Customizing my blog

I’ve had a ton fun over the last few days playing around with the format, colours, background, etc of my blog. I wanted to put in more picture elements of some of my own photographs. I really love taking pictures and have taken so many on my travels that I feel they are truly a piece of who I am. I wanted to capture that side of me in my blog somehow and have added a few into the overall scheme.

I’ve taken computer programming in the past (many, many moons ago) so I was familiar enough with playing around with the html of the page. But once you start you want to keep seeing “what happens if I increase this, remove this, add this?” It turns into a bit of a game and after some time you finally come to something that you really are proud of. Of course the danger here for me however, is that I’ll want to keep changing it, adding to it. Basically keeping it fresh if not for visitors, surely for me.

  1. Tracy – if you like taking pictures and want to share them, you might want to check out Flickr and use one of their widgets. It would be an easy way to add pictures to your blog.

  2. Great idea Tony. Thank you. My new blogging friend Kathy (www.indiatheway.blogspot) and I both quite like the idea of it, but she was little disappointed it is an application you have to navigate out to. I kind of agree with that, but the more and more that I am using web applications for various tasks the more I realize that is just the way of the web world.
