Hmmm, What to do with my 5000+ digital photos?

Thanks to a post Friday from Donald Clark I think I may shortly have some where to put all my 1000’s of scenery photos to practical use.

Microsoft is working on perfecting it’s Photosynth technology. Basically it takes photo collections that you, me and everyone else uploads and then relates them (links) them together to create real world environments. One can now walk through Notre Dame and see all elements of the structure as it truly exists.

I may have taken a picture of one statue and the next year someone takes a picture zoomed in of the statue, the next day another person takes a picture of the statue beside it. This software/platform will relate those photos together along with others to allow everyone to see them merged together as a “real” space.

How cool is that!?! Now I just need a better, faster, stronger computer to play with it.
