After catching up on some blog reading and being directed to some different videos out there…..
“Why do people who use webcams spend more time looking at themselves on the computer screen then directly into the camera?”

I think it’s because they are also looking at their screen (slides, notes, etc.) I guess a better way to do it would be to put the web cam in front of you with any notes, etc. situated teleprompter-style. I feel a little freaky staring into the web cam. It’s like I’m staring right at someone. However, you lack any eye contact. Sometimes I want to zoom right up to it like “here’s my eyeball”…training tarantino style. : )
Great point Janet. I suppose many would be reading their screen notes, or looking at slides. I was thinking of millions that make videos of themselves singing and dancing. However, when it comes to the more serious training items, your suggestion makes perfect sense.
I do think the tarantino style of training might have it’s merits too.
Because it’s the only way people can see themselves without staring straight into their own eyes.
